Question New to the game of Crossfit

I have been a powerlifter, strongman and dabbled in olympic weightlifting for a long time. I am interested in meeting with other "Crossfitters" in my area and maybe starting a club or some personal competition to push each other. I am new to crossfit and live in the middle of nowhere, aka Northwest Iowa. Does anyone know of any crossfit programs in the Storm Lake, or Humboldt Iowa area or anyone in Iowa at all

Re: New to the game of Crossfit

There are three affiliates in Iowa:

CrossFit Ames

CrossFit Iowa

Corridor CrossFit

I don't know if any of those are close to you, but check them out. If none of them are nearby, there is an "In Search of CrossFitters" forum in the "Community" section strictly for the purpose of finding other CrossFitters in your area.

(all links work and family safe)

Re: New to the game of Crossfit

welcome aboard travis! i have been into this for two months and am completely converted over 100% from traditional lifting routines.

a great thing about xfit is the community. you can always use this board for any questions about programs or exercises. and if you are looking to motivate yourself against others times then check out http://logsitall.com/ . they have a leader board and it kind of motivates me.

also check out these fitness goals. http://www.crossfitseattle.com/athletic_skill.html its a good way to gauge your strengths and weaknesses overall.

good luck & enjoy.
