clean and jerk question

as i switch off doing jerks do i want to switch my lunge leg every time... lunge with my left forward first then my right forward for the second and keep switching as i go. or do i just pick my favorite way to go and stick with it. may be a stupid question but i wanted to make sure, thanks.

you really do have to do the split jerk you know.

You will find that not splitting will result in more reps and fast times as you will not have to worry about resetting your position for each and every rep

When I do split jerks I always put my left foot forward. I dont know if there is an advantage to switching off, I just do what feels natural

Either is fine, I don't split, that is my choice, you can favor one leg if you want, there is no rule on it . You can alternate too if you are worried one leg is getting more of a work out, or you just are wanting to work an all arround effect.
