I really can't emphasize how much I love this website. It borders on obsession. I check the damn thing every 10 min after 9pm EST until I see the new WOD. Why do I do this? What's my problem? I'll tell you:

I heard of CrossFit through a link on I started CrossFit on 4/1/05. The WOD that day was:
21-18-15-12-9-6-3 Rep Rds. for time of-
35# DB Burpee/Hang Squat Clean/Thruster

This was the hardest thing I had ever done. I have no idea how long it took me, I only know that I finished. I was completely wrecked afterwards. I was also completely hooked. I started following the WODs exclusively, eschewing the bodybuilding/powerlifting workouts that I had done in the past for football. I've been doing the WODs for a steady 8.5 months now, and here are some of my accomplishments:

Pullups from 8 to 25
Pushups from 50 to 90
Mile from 7:55 to 6:58
Deadlift from 385 to 415
Fran = 4:22
Elizabeth = 4:30
Chelsea +1 completed
FGB from 286 to 344
Bodyweight from 220 to 194
And many more amazing (to me) PRs...

Basically I just wanted to thank Coach and all of the contributors to this fantastic revolution called CrossFit. I owe more than I can ever repay.

the best part is you could be telling this story to someone and have them answer -- "oh, I've heard of crossfit, that's the workout my mom (or grandma) does" <g>

That had to be the most difficult WOD I've been through and that was after consistantly doing the WODs for several years. Kudos to you for finishing!

Thanks Kelly. I will continue to bust it in the WODs, and one day maybe I will be in the upper echelon of CrossFitters with you.

Just to clarify my fraudulent Liz time, that was recorded with 1:1 bar dips and power cleans. This time I'm going to suck it up and attempt squat cleans (though I suck terribly at them) and 3:1 bar dips (can't wait til my rings get here!!!).
