I posted this on the comments for 3-4-05, but thought it would be appropriate here as well.
My runners have been training since the second week of February using CrossFit twice a week. Due to the abnormal rainfall this year, we've been training indoors using CF more often. When we get outside, we've done tempo runs, LSD runs, stairclimbing and hill training, and race distance runs. My runners have been encouraged to try POSE techniques and we all followed the first set of drills from the DVD. They've learned about and used dumbbell swings, thrusters, wallball, and bodyweight exercises.
They have built mental toughness as well as physical fitness.
Yesterday, in our first meet, my runners exceeded all expectations with 2 winning their grade level race, one second place finish, one fifth place, one fourth. None of the runners were dead last and all finished under 20 minutes. I was so pleased, I gave them today off.
Ofcourse, Monday I will bring them back to reality and run their butts off and Tuesday give them a CF workout of high intensity. So, we're not resting on our laurels!!

Thanks to all for your continued support and suggestions.
Thanks for the tip guiding me to POSE running. My girl who won the 7th grade race used the POSE method and blew the field away!!!! Her mother is rehabbing a broken leg and started using POSE to get back into running!!
The shirts should be to me by Tuesday. Yours will be in Tacoma soon

Great job Ron!
That is so cool to be in a position where you can have such a positive effect on so many lives, and then actually follow through with it.
Those kids are gonna make it.
If only all teachers and parents could follow your lead.

Great job Ron. How fun to be able to do something you enjoy so much and then see others not only enjoy it but achieve success with it. I'm glad the Pose method is working...and I'm impressed that it is working so quickly. But since your kids are pretty young they have not developed too many bad habits yet and learning to run correctly is probably less difficult for them than for someone who has been practicing poor form for many years.

I have the shirt. Thank you.
