Tomorrow's WoD is 3x800m runs. It says to rest between them. The question is how long? To get completely recovered? That might take a while for me, LOL. Five minutes? That would make the total workout probably about 25 minute plus warmup, which seems reasonable.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

last time some people posted that they rested what it took to run the 800M, ie if it took you 4:00 minutes to run then rest for 4:00 minutes. Some rested 2:00 minutes and went again. I think Coach said rest untill fully recovered. I rested the 2:00 minutes and it worked out good. Hope that helps.

Thanks Dwayne. LOL, I think if I rest 2 minutes, I'll probably run the 2nd one in 8:00 minutes. I haven't run an 800m in a looong time. I think if I wait until fully recovered, I'll not have time for Sunday's WoD! I think I'll probably try 4 or 5 minutes and see how that goes.

Brad,
LOL remember to write down how you felt for the next time. My kids rested 4:00 minutes this time and they said that worked good for them. Let me know how you did and good luck!

Well, it went ok...kinda. I rested 5:00. I did 3:57 then 3:51, feeling great then bam--hamstring cramp/mild pull at about 150 yards into the 3rd one and walked the rest of it. Oh well, that's the way it goes. I think I could've done about as well on the second one with 4 minutes of rest.

I haven't run a lot in a while and we just did 5K and Diane in the last few days. My legs were probably too beat up to not scale today's WoD.

Brad, Sorry about the injury. You were really doing really well with times under 4:00 minutes on an 800 meter run! That was a lot of running in a row. You will do even better next time!

Thanks Dwayne, both for the advice and kind words. I think it was only a nasty cramp because it wasn't very sore the next day. Calves were very sore, though!

Next time, I'd love to get 3 of them in the 3:50-3:55 range, although I'd probably be happy just finishing, LOL.

I had a demoralizing thought while I was running them. A good high school 800m runner would have a fair shot at lapping me.....in a 2-lap race! Apples to oranges, I know, but still a funny thought.
