Elliot, try some post workout healthy carbs mixed with protein. You will need that glycogen replenishment for hockey games as it is high amounts of short bursts of energy. Paleo for athletes is basically that. Interesting enough I found that I have good energy for a 2hr game with a small bottle of gatorade with a scoop of Whey mixed in, sipped throughout the game....plus water too.

Mike,

You always have lots of energy because you don't backcheck!

No need to back check if you can put the puck in the net first time down.

BTW....Didn't I end your career as a goalie cause I "owned" you?? Ha.

Elliot I heard somewhere about making nut butters and mixing the butters into PWO shakes. Supposedly tastes good, and sounds good but I've yet to try it. Just another way to get 'em down without having to grind mouthfulls of 'em.

thanks for the advice....I suppose not backchecking is an option...:angel_no:

Endurox is basically protein plus carbs in what is supposed to be the optimal mix.

Yes, if I can use protein shakes and energy drinks, there's no issue. I just wondered whether someone would argue that it's negating the benefit of the diet.
