Re: Rings - Difference between wood & metal?

Sounds like wood is the way to go - the point about chalk is something I'd completely overlooked initially. Thanks for your comments everyone - very much appreciated!

We had a guy do 30 MUs in under 5 minutes without any chalk on the Rogue Wooden Rings.

Re: Rings - Difference between wood & metal?

Generally our guys always use chalk on rings but there isn't a huge need to sometimes. Some of our guys have naturally sweaty/oily hands so that is more of the point.

I didn't need to use any chalk today getting on them, but I generally do.

I'm a huge fan of the Wooden Rings. When we got stock, I immediately replaced every pair in the gym.

In terms of grip and feel, they can't be beat. They're smooth, yet tacky (kinda like Tucker, actually...)

Best,

Jon

oh? really? lol... Is AF carrying wooden rings now! Awesomeness!

i will say this about the CF style wooden rings, they are not competition spec, so they are a little ruffer and grip better... rough around the edges - like Jon "Boston" Gilson!

Re: Rings - Difference between wood & metal?

I have two sets of German-made wooden Olympic rings and I love them. Especially in a cold garage in the winter time when the temp is sub 30 degrees they are not cold like metal or plastic ones.

So would you suggest getting a pair of both wood and metal, if you're considering the wood?
