Re: The kettlebell king
It seems that qfter 70lbs the handle of the Troy kettlebell changes from being round to being more square. http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/004...jpg?1266816299YOU MUST ANNOTATE ALL LINKS WHETHER WORK AND FAMILY SAFE.

Re: The kettlebell king
Well, either those photos are an anomaly or my bell is an anomaly, because my handle is absolutely round.

Re: The kettlebell king
Are you talking about the "corners" of the handle or the circumference of the handle? If the "corners", then yes they are different from the DD's. This makes them more comfortable doing two handed swings. The gripping surface itself is as round as my DD's.

Re: The kettlebell king
The corners and shape of the handles rather than the circumference changes after 70lbs.

Re: The kettlebell king
Ahh,, gotch'ya... Sorry for the confusion.
For doing one handed work I would definitely prefer a small handle so that it's more streamlined going between my legs and around my body and for working doubles. With this bad boy, I don't think I'll be worrying about it for a while. |

Re: The kettlebell king
The picture of the 80# on shopify.com with the squared handle is one of our old, first-generation kettlebells. The 70# is indicative of what we are shipping now. The revision came in part from responses we received from our Cross-Fit user feedback.
Although I'm biased, I genuniely believe that we offer the very best kettlebell value on the market and I hope each Cross-Fitter that purcashes will continue to add their feedback, good or bad, so we can continue to get better. As an aside, please let me know if you think we should also begin production on kettles in kilograms. We've been tossing this around but any replies will add weight to our final decision. Thank you |

Re: The kettlebell king
I went ahead and measured the outside dimension of the handles of the 53# DD and the 80# Troy. They are exactly the same. Therefore the footprint going between your legs should be the same...
As far as the KG/LB issue, I really don't see much difference one way or another. But then again I don't compete, and I'm not in marketing... I agree with the value statement that Troy made. Will the newer 80# bells have the new generation handle? Will they be thicker? |
