Need barbell help

I'm currently in the market for a barbell for my workouts, I e-mailed Jason at Wright Exercise, because I have to order some bumper plates off of him, and he said he had a Crossfit bar in stock. Now, I'm going to be looking around at other places, because if I can avoid having to have the barbell shipped as well as the bumpers, then I will. Can anybody recommend a good barbell to be used with t he crossfit workouts?

Any help is appreciated.

Try this web site. It seems that everyone love the Pendlay Bar.

Re: Need barbell help

I have a bar coming from Jason at Wright Exercise Equipment. It is made by Pendlay. I was told its a little beefed up strengthwise than the Crossfit bar. Unfortunately/fortunately (depending on your ideals) the bar has a more aggressive knurl and has center knurling like a powerlifting bar.

I expect it will be as good as anything Pendlay offers in that price range (it is made by him).

Eventually, I will probably be making a fairly large check out to Glenn for his Olympic Lifting bar though.

Re: Need barbell help

IMO Get the Pendlay Mens Bar, its worth the $ and will outlast you. The Pendlay Elite is the best of the best but probably not worth the $ unless your an elite competetion lifter and even then it still may not be worth it. The pendlay mens bar is just that awsome, spring for it over the crossfit bar if you can. You won't be dissapointed with any pendlay bar though, they are all great quality for the $.

Re: Need barbell help

The garage gym store found at the very bottom right of the crossfit homepage has a crossfit bar for $95 and is $125 after shipping. It is exactly what you need and does not have any center knurling which you don't want if you like your shins to stay blood free while doing DL's. They also have some other good stuff at low prices. Just stay away from their kettlebells because they are crap...IMO.
