Hey, just wanted to know if anyone out there had any recipes, ideas or suggestions as to how they eat their f/v either on the go or even when they have time to sit down and be fancy. As a trainer in NYC i have to eat the majority of my meals between clients or on the subway and i was starting to get tired of cutting up an assortment of raw f/v's and throwing them into Tupperware. kind of bland sometimes
Any tasty ideas/mixtures that work for you guys/girls would be much appreciated. I suppose i could extend my query to your on the go proteins as well. Reply at your discretion. |

I've been wondering about this myself. Specifically, I'm looking for Zone-like snacks (doesn't have to be blocks, but it needs something close to a 40/30/30 macronutrient breakdown) that don't involve meat and won't easily melt. Soy nuts seem to have a pretty good amount of protein (according to http://www.calorieking.com/foods/calories-in-nuts-soy-dry-roasted_f-Y2lkPTIzMjEx JmJpZD0xJmZpZD03MjcyMCZwYXI9.html), but I have heard some negative things about the effect of soy on hormones.

If I had to name this recipe I'd call it pumpkin bars cuz thats what ive been using, but you could use any kind of vegetables (just boil something squash-like and then puree it in a blender):
1 can coconut milk 2 cups shredded coconut 1/4 cup cocoa powder 7 o-3 eggs a whole lotta grass-fed beef tallow (you could use any oil) 3 cups nut flour 4 cups vegetable puree 2 cups flax/hemp/sesame seed mix 3 tbs honey or maple syrup 2 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp tumeric Simply mix together in a large bowl, bake in shallow dish or muffin tins. Calorie PACKED on the go! |

its kinda up to you... the higher temp and longer you bake, probably the more appetizing it will be
but more nutritious at low tempteratures i bake at about ~290 degrees for roughly 45 mins to an hour |
