Re: opinions on the Wright HD vs. York Training bars bar.

Everything's been said that needs to be said... I do want to add that you should be glad you didn't get the York. I have that York bar, and it does spin nice, but my main issue is that it only weighs 40lbs. Yep.

Mine too...GRRR. Annoying. But still feels better for oly lifts than the standard rogue bar so it does get used for oly lifts (not metcons). I wish I would have sprung for something else though.

Glad to hear this, it means I WON'T be ordering one of these bars when the time comes. I would have sent it back if the weight was off by that much!!

For what it's worth, the Eleiko training bars tend to run 1-4 pounds under a true 20 kilos.

Well, I used to train on an Eleiko competition bar, and my bar is a Zhangkong competition bar. I currently work out at a club using Pendlay bearing bars. I'm pretty sure all of these are fairly correct weight-wise.

My Eleiko Olympic training bar weighs 44.63 lbs = 20.2 kg using a calibrated postal packing scale. My B&R bar weighed in at 43.63 lbs = 19.8 kg.

thanks for the replies my people, I really appreciate them. I have a lot of experience with the Pendlay HD's so I know I'll be happy with them, I guess I shouldn't have tried to skimp on the cost - my bad.
