Any Sabbath observant Jews?

I am kind of new to Xfit and I am also a religious Jew. If there are any others out there, do you just skip Saturday? Do you combine workouts?
Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Jason, just rest...don't worry about it. You could do the Saturday WOD on a scheduled rest day. Remember to establish consistancy and form prior to intensity. Rest days are vital to recovery and progress. Some people do a M-F CF schedule with Saturday and Sunday off...give it a try, stay about a week behind.

Can you just do your Friday WODs before sunset and your Saturday WODs after sunset?

Yael-- I do my friday workout before work (about 530 am) but with my family and stuff, it seems impossible to get a work out in after sundown on saturdays. But I think I can modify it on the fly now. I am trying to stay on the WOD but I may take Larry's suggestion and go a week behind.

Yeah I am actually Shomer shabbos as well! NY Jew here. I have been Cfing for several months now, although I dont always do the WOD of the day. generally I use Sat as my rest day though. ANd I find it quite important to use those rest days. I have also dont workouts Sat nite after Shabbos. I would love to do a cert in the next few months and that may be a prob since they are all on SAt and Sun. I would participate but cant write notes or even drive to a location. If there was a hotel within walking distance.....

maybe if we get enough shomer shabbos Jews together, we could see if they would schedule a cert in a way we could participate

That sounds awesome David. I may try the May cert if something doesnt come up b4hand, although I cant see how. They need two days. Perhaps a Sun and then a legal holiday?

That sounds like a great idea. I'm a Seventh-day Adventist Christian who also keeps the Seventh-day Sabbath. As I said on another post, I have tried to emmail Deane about possibilities of accomodating those who cannot commit to Certs that fall on Saturday.

I hope that it works out though. I would love to do the Cert.
