anyone doing main site only?
I was wondering who here is doing the main site only? If so do we follow it each day or pick our own rest days and follow main site from there.

I follow it 90% of the time. It runs on a 3 on 1 off schedule. Generally, I'll buy in with a couple sets of CrossFit warmup or some excercises, perhaps some skill work (rings, hand stands), then I'll do the WOD, then I'll cash-out with some other excercises, usually something that I think I need work on. That answer your question?

overall fitness. My sport is Shaolin kung fu but was thinking of trying out for the games and maybe take up ultra distance running

you will not be able to compete at the games doing ultra distance running. Will you be able to run ultra distance if you do crossfit? yes you will. But if your main goal is ultra distance runningthen you wont be the best crossfitter. As said before pick one and stick with it. Most of the athletes that compete at the crossfit games are extreme beasts they dont just do the main site wod, they are very well rounded and they spend alot of time working on thier weaknesses plus doing a hard core crossfit workouts. thier life rotates around crossfit they dont focus on otehr sports, crossfit is thier sport.

You won't likely have a chance to do well in Sectionals while doing main site, kung fu and ultra training. Strength is very important so unless you're really strong you will have a difficult time qualifying for regionals. Part of overall fitness you indicate is your goal is trying different things....sounds like you're on the right path to doing so. |

right now I am doing main site but before the WOD I work on one strength exercise snatches,deadlifts,cleas,presses, squats etc and after the WOD I pick one gymnastics exercise to work on L-sit,plank handstand,etc.I Also Have 1 2hour shaolin kung fu class each tuesday.
