Angie's Crossfit Journal
My attempt at keeping track at my Crossfit workouts....Im notoriously not good at keeping track .....
I first started xfitting in Feb/March of 2008 and was hooked! I play rugby (in college and now for the past 8 years on a club team and various select side teams) so the benefits and workouts are definitely in line with the conditioning and strength needed to succeed in the sport. I had to take a month off due to a car accident in July so am now just starting over (ugh) and am in my second week at Crossfit Center City. Our rugby season starts this weekend so this will be a challenge to balance practice, Crossfit and recovery to make it through our long season. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm logging in the past few weeks of workouts if I can remember them so I am caught up ![]() 1) 8/10/09 Tabata Something Else Total: 113 Pullups: I think 32 total Pushups: 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 4, 3 ...(going from memory) Plank: 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, Squats: 14, 14, 14, 14, 14, 14, 14, 15 2) 8/9/09 Rest Day 3) 8/8/09 Max Press Day 45x1, 65x1, 75x1, 85x1, 95x1, 105x1, 110 (fail) Hiking in the Wissahickon 4) 8/7/09 L Pullups - AMRAP in 15 min Total: 69 (L w/ Purple Band) 5) 8/6/09 3 rounds for time 400 m run 21 Burpees 30 DL (at 95#) Time: 28:?? This WOD made me want to vomit....that pretty much sums it up and I hated Greg the entire time. 6) 8/5/05 Rest Day 7) 8/4/09 Over Head Squats-Skill Day Lets just say my squats need some work and my hips need some stretching.... 45x5, 45x5, 45x5, 45x5, 45x5, 45x5, 45x5, 45x5 8) 8/3/09 J.T 21-15-9 reps of: Handstand push-ups ( I think we did SB trusters) 50#? Ring dips Push-ups Time: 25:50 9) 8/2/09 Rest Day 10) 8/1/09 Nada 11) 7/31/09 Push Jerk Day I cant remember the ladder but my max was 115 lbs (for the next time we do them) 12) 7/30/09 Off 13) 7/29/09 With a continuously running clock do one 135 pound Clean and Jerk the first minute, two 135 pound Clean and Jerks the second minute, three 135 pound Clean and Jerks the third minute... continuing as long as you are able. Use as many sets each minute as needed. With 50# Sandbag 1-1min 2-2min 3-3min 4-4min 5-5min 6-6min 7-7min 8-8min ughhhh 14) 7/28/09 "Cindy" AMRAP in 20 minutes: 5 pullups 10 pushups 15 squats Total: 7 rds 15) 7/27/09 Rest 16) 7/26/09 Complete as many rounds as possible 20 minutes of: 10 Thrusters 10 Ab roll outs (with band) 10 Good Mornings No idea how many rounds ![]() 17) 7/25/09 -First Day back at Crossfit! "Lynne" Five rounds for max reps of: Pushups Pull-ups Again, no idea of what my # was |

Run 800m for time x4 POSE Running Comments: Running long distances is a mental roadblock for me ...granted 800 m does not seem long but in rugby we run 10 or 20 m then do the equivalent of a press or clean or some sort of pressing, pushing movement so I was not looking forward to this. Good tips from Erin and got immediate video feedback that let me see I run "uh shall we say "awkward" ....but good to know and fix the next time I only completed x2 , back was doing a weird spasm thing that made running painful so I sat out the last two. Rugby season starts this wkd with our pre-season camp Fri, Sat and Sun... |

Mainsite Rest Day = Squat Day Front Squats from a clean, my first time at crossfit 45x5, 85x5, 90x5, 100x5, 110x5, 120 x 0 ( I failed the clean ![]() My squats felt strong but I could not clean 120 !!! Greg said with more technique work I hopefully should be able to clean more. I also know I need to improve my hip mobility. In the past I also did back squats and from the rack, so this is challenging. |
