Unhappy Nagging Chest Cold - to workout?

I'm starting week two of a chest cold that will not go away. I've been out of Crossfit-commission for a couple of weeks now and am ready to get back to it. I feel much better, however I still feel some chest congestion and a little nagging cough at times during the day. Is it wise to get back to the wods, or give it a rest until I'm 100%? FYI this started as a mild cold/sinuses and I continued to workout and it escalated into the worst bug I've had in a couple of years.

The advice I've heard is that it's o.k. to workout with a head cold but not with a chest cold, that you won't make gains from it.

Thanks... I think a trip to the doctor is in order pretty soon if this persists. I might try a jog tonight and see how much huffing and puffing I do.

Re: Nagging Chest Cold - to workout?

I do not workout whenever I'm ill. I know conventional wisdom says I should be ok as long as its not a chest or flu symptoms but I feel like I'm sicker longer when I do w.o. sick... even light w.o.'s seem to do this to me.
just my opinion though
