Starting For newcomers to the CrossFit methodology

Rest Days

I have a quick question, on rest days, should I completely rest, or should I get a light jog or walk in?

I think most folks would agree that a LIGHT jog or walk is okay, but rest should be paramount. Few can sustain the CF pace without complete rest on the rest days and most of us mere mortals end up having to squeeze in extra days of complete rest in order to recuperate fully and avoid overtraining.

Rest days are for learning new skills/sports. Nothing intense though, take it easy. IF you don't have a handstand, work on that (assuming you are strong enough that this isn't a lot of work, weak people shouldn't do this - yet). Maybe you want to practice your racquetball serves.
