Nike weightlifting shoe

Not sure if this has been posted already but Nike are producing a shoe for Beijing. Will be available for general release from August I believe. Details here. (wfs)

Re: Nike weightlifting shoe

I love nike and have been a loyal nike freak for most of my life. But the plastic heel has me a bit concerned about durability and reliability. But they do look REALLY nice, the team USA and team China colors sound like they might look the best.

Re: Nike weightlifting shoe

I have a heel bone that is oddly shapen and really flairs up the plantar fascitus. Sounds like a good alternative with the shapen hell cups.

those look awesome! but the article said the team China was to have a gold color that would turn to red when seen at different angles. But I would take those black and white ones with the red heel any day.

I'd buy 'em. I'll bet they're over $200 though. A bit out of my price range. Look sexy though, and I like the idea of two different insoles for competition vs. training.

Re: Nike weightlifting shoe

One of the lifters at my club was wearing a pair a few weeks ago--she's a nat'l-level lifter, and must have gotten an advance pair. They look snazzy, but I dunno...I fell for the Adistars that way too, and they fell apart pretty quick. AND 200 bucks.

Seriously, I cannot recommend Stefan Botev's line of OL shoes highly enough.

Re: Nike weightlifting shoe

That big cushy looking heal makes me a little nervous, and this quote from the description:

"...helping to ensure that an athlete’s weight stays forward during the intense jerking and lifting motion of competition."

the weight isnt supposed to stay foward... its supposed to stay on the heels... obviously its not being marketed to people that actually know anything about weightlifting?

I think you're wrong, team China is really effing strong and they are wearing this shoe. I think they know a thing or two about WL.
