Re: what is your occupation?

previously:

tumbling coach, oilfield roughneck, amatuer boxer, boxing coach, property tax consultant.

currently (In no particular order)

dad, husband, girls 12u fastpitch softball coach, at home crossfitter, professional boxing manager, runner.

To pay the bills I'm an owner in a family real estate in investment company, an IT service company, and a construction company. It looks good in print but I spend most of my time sitting in front of a computer screen like everyone else.

Re: what is your occupation?

Currently a deployed Captain in the Army Reserves. Serving as an HHC Commander in Kuwait.

No job at home to go back to. This is by choice as I'm looking to go to a music based school to become a professional musician with focus on bass guitar.

Where else but CF would you have a doctor, a guy in finance, a contractor, 2 CF coaches/competitors, a marine/CF coach, a construction manager, etc all hanging out on a beach in Monterey Bay...loving life, and taking handstand pictures.

That doesn't really happen anywhere else.
It does!

I was on a skydiving team in 2006 as a 26-yo engineer... my teammates were:

1) another engineer, but he was 40ish
2) a retired plumber/maintenance guy who was 50+
3) a 30 yo professional freelance drummer
4) my dad, who was 50+ and an IT guru

but I know what you mean... it's rare and very special time when people from all different backgrounds and ages are brought together by something they love and have in common. for us it was skydiving. Everything else was irrelevant.

Re: what is your occupation?

I'm a geologist working full time for a large iron ore company.

I'm a mum to gorgeous 8 year old. Her CrossFit nickname is Mouse. She has drunk the Kool-Aid as have I (though we don't have Kool_Aid here - maybe cordial?)

I did a personal training course last year and with CF hope to do CrossFit Kids training one day and cut back on my full time job. Hope to get to California for CFK cert next April/May.
