I wrote an article in the new issue of Girevik Magazine called, "What is Functional Training?". Inside, I included a few tests I designed to measure functional fitness. I really thought Greg's bench and pullup test was a stroke of genius. My tests are sort of along the same lines as that one. There is an upper body, lower body and core test. I tried to balance them pretty evenly in terms of expected numbers and for different body types. I tried to test for as many different abilities as possible, including power, strength, speed and endurance.
I'm curious what you guys think of the tests?
You should check out the new issue, I think it turned out really well. This month has sort of a gymnastics theme.
