if you want cheep you can make them yourself. check out some of the posts in the equipment section archives. I bought my from Tyler Hass, at

www.ringtraining.com

work/family safe website for gymnastic rings.

they were a pretty good price, $85 w/ shipping and handling.

Gill has some also, or you can check around on ebay for people selling off their old rings after buying the newer elite or Gill rings.

Could someone post the standard dimensions of rings please? Somewhere I saw it but can't find the thread any longer.

Frank, of course you would ask after I pack my ring us to go back to the States. I dug them out of the bottom of my bag and they are a tad under 4 inches thick and a bit less than 30 inches around. I've got a set from Tyler. I just put some cloth/sticky electrical tape on them and they're sweet.

I bought some of those purse rings from Seattle Marine.
They are a bit thin compared to standard rings, and I had to sand them to get rid of a seam from the molding.

Still trying to figure out how best to mount them. I guess maybe ratcheting tie-down straps?

Jared,

I just wrapped adhesive tape and then a
tennis overgrip around my purse rings to
thicken the grip - when the first course
wore out from muscle-ups, I just ran a
second course of adh. tape/overwrap on
top of the first, real comfy.
