97 Orchard: An Edible History of Five Immigrant Families in One New York Tenement

Talks about how several immigrant groups assimilated into American culture (or didn't as the case may be) via the food they ate.

Tons of amazing recipes too, and some really interesting tidbits like how pigs used to roam free through the streets of NYC, eating grass and refuse, until they were caught and slaughtered.

World War Z was great, Survial Guide not so much. Some other favorites in the zombie genre are two in the Day by Day Armageddon series (I love survival type books) and Ex-Heroes (a superhero/zombie crossover.)

Can one our resident super-nerds condense all these suggestions onto one list? I love to read, have got a ton of great suggestions from this thread but also see a ton of repeats.

Just finished Lonesome Dove a week or two ago. Great read. Took a while go get going in the beginning, but definitely picked up. Then I read Friday by Robert Heinlein. Another good one, though totally different than a western.

Currently reading Molon Labe by Boston T. Party (Kenneth Royce). Shhhh, don't tell big brother...

Im right in the middle of it It took me about 1/4 to remember who was who but now I really like it.
I put off even looking at it because I thought it was some angry chick lit book until I saw everyone at the pool in Vegas reading it. Picked it up at the airport on the way home, glad I did.
