Re: Do you go to another gym AND Crossfit?

I am in the process of outfitting my garage. I'm really close to having everything I need. Right now I've got a bar, bumpers, rower, plyobox, parallettes, jump ropes, pullup bar and 2 kettlebells. For 250 a month, you could buy everything you needed in several months and then own it forever. Of course, if you are the kind of person that really appreciates having a skilled trainer working with you. . . then keep paying.

WOW! you guys are tough.

Based on her signature she is a member of Harbor City CrossFit. They have been affiliated almost 3 years and they are charging $125 a month per person doesn't seem outragous to me.

Apparently she sees the value and that is all that really matters.

Again, it comes down to goals and weaknesses and strengths.

Yeah, that's not outrageous. I bet some people thought it was $250 for ONE person.

Kevin, one of the draws of training at a CF affiliate box is that you get a much more one on one experience and coaching. The $50 per month gym will slap you on the butt and have you figure your own way or pay $70/hr for personal training. I think that makes the CF membership a great value.

Re: Do you go to another gym AND Crossfit?

Yes, it is $125 per person. And I do see the value in continuing my membership to HC2. I absolutely adore my trainers, and I know for sure that they push me to achieve results I could never get on my own at a globo or even my own garage gym. And the camraderie feeling you get from all the other members sweating the WOD with you is priceless. That's the value.

Adding the globo group fitness classes would be taking up a new hobby...like bird watching or something...

If you can afford it, why not? I pay as much for my dojo dues as I do for Crossfit, but I'm not planning to abandon either. They fill different niches in my life.

I do it at the Y. I rather lucked out because the Y is in my work buidling, and they have all the CF gear, save bumpers, including a 200m indoor track. Another great thing is that when I go after lunch(time), I see my boss, her bosses boss & his boss all in there at the same time.

Re: Do you go to another gym AND Crossfit?

I've always thought it would be cool to go to an actual affiliate. It'd be nice even to just meet anyone in person who does CF... or knows what it is... or doesn't look at me funny. I post comments on main site so that's about the extent I get from community. I work out at the university here in manitoba and payed 180 bucks for the year (yay for being a student) and they basically have what I need and usually all the stuff I need is free since most dudes at university are into body building and curling. I own my own extra's like rings and speed rope and such. When one is a broke student one cannot afford regular gyms at 50/month let alone the CF affiliate at 125/month... Sigh... one day.
I'd definitely say it's worth it if you can afford it to keep your affiliate. Otherwise it's easy to feel pretty lonely. An ya, showers are so nice, we have them at school. And a pool for laps!
