I am 5'11', weigh 185, 45 years old, and have been training for 30+ years. Only since starting CrossFit have I have done any O-lifts or powerlifts, and I just got a new personal record DL of 300 lbs. How does this stack up to others my weight? I know that there is much better out there, but how does 300 compare to most and what does it say about my DL strength?

i think ive heard people say that a 1.5XBW is a good deadlift. your past that by like almost 20 something pounds, so good job. 2XBW is next, keep training hard

Thanks guys. I appreciate the links and the quote from the CFJ. I've got a ways to go, but with 2 degenerated discs and old age, I guess I'm not doing too bad.

At 215 lbs & 205 lbs bodyweight, I have managed to DL 400 lbs. twice in the last year with zero powerlift experience, I want to get down to 200 lbs. and DL 405. After that, it's what Kevin Roddy said: 10 more, then 10 more,
BTW, I'm 45, and feel like I'm 45. Sometimes my back gets stiffer than it used to, but if I don't get it diagnosed those discs won't ever be degenerated, just older! |
