I have been doing a fasted workout (10grams BCAA preworkout) for almost a year now and have seen great fitness gains. I don't think the gains are due to the fasted state but my point is that it shouldn't hurt performance.

Fasting for me is just used to control calories. I feel much more Satiety with 2 large meals late in the day over 4-5 small meals spaced throughout the day.

I don't eat until about 6:30-7 at night and I'll train either at 4 or 5pm depending on when I get done work. But this is after a year of moving to those times. In other words my body got used to it.

But for early morning workouts having a cup of coffee works. And, if you were following the fasting protocal, you would just eat a piece of fruit or have 10 g bcaas following training.
