Malfunctioning PM3 (Concept2)

I received my Concept2 Model D w/PM3 a couple days ago. The first two days it worked great. Tonight however, the display on the PM3 just had a bunch of black lines on it.

I followed the manualís instructions for resetting the PM3 and replacing the batteries, but neither fixed the problem. In fact after replacing the batteries, I no longer see anything on the display.

I just sent an e-mail to Concept2, but it's after hours. In the meantime, I was hoping someone might have a solution. Any help would be appreciated!

Robert;

Plug and unplug the jack, see if it's loose.

You just might have to wait until Monday, but least the rower works, row for time.

BTW, you're ten minutes from me. We should hook up, do a WOD together.

Re: Malfunctioning PM3 (Concept2)

Hey Robert, I'm not sure if they've corrected the problem with newly-shipped rowers, but mine came with a "defective" log card. I never had any problems with it, but C2 sent me another one free of charge about 2-3 weeks after I got my rower.

They said something about the log card causing the PM3 to restart and lose data (that would really suck if I'd had it for longer than 3 weeks at the time, heh).

Hopefully that's all it is, and you won't have to wait for them to get you a new PM3

Re: Malfunctioning PM3 (Concept2)

Thanks for the responses. I played around with the jack, but that doesnít appear to be the problem. I donít think I have a defective log card either, as I wasnít using it. I put the card in last night to see if it would make a difference. Unfortunately, it looks like Iím going to have to wait until Monday and speak w/C2.

Glad to see someone local who is also doing CF, Jay. Weíll have to get together sometime and workout. I just started doing CF July 20, 2007. Havenít missed a WOD since. Very addictive!

Re: Malfunctioning PM3 (Concept2)

Quick update. C2 answered my e-mail Monday morning and determined I needed a new PM3. It mailed out the replacement that afternoon. I received it in two days with a postage paid box for returning the old one. I'm very satisfied with C2's customer service.
