Re: Progenex

Yes, but you can add fat on any diet. You are probably eating more due to the stress.

Re: Progenex

I took progenex for about 3 months while doing a strict Westside/Conjugate program, no metcons at all. I was doing a scoop of each (MM and Recovery) during my strength work and a scoop of each after. I gained about 15lbs and I'd say 2% bodyfat tops. The extra pound or 2 came off within a couple weeks of hitting metcons hard.

Re: Progenex

Tim, that sounds like a fun program--and those are some impressive gains! I don't know if I could give up my metcons, but it still sounds like a great way to add some serious power.

Thanks for all the replies!

Re: Progenex

Tim, sweet gains! Did you find that the Progenex helped with the strength portion?

But yosaid yo are putting on unwanted pounds. If you want to drink a protein shake then you probably need to make sure the rest of your diet supports your goals. You do have goals correct?

Thanks. I felt it definitely helped with recovery between workouts, which led to the strength gains.

Re: Progenex

Cutting out the tubers might not of been a good idea. Especially if your work outs very intense and your stress levels are high. Sounds like an increase in cortisol along with the liquid food could be the culprit. You should dive into Robb Wolf's podcast's. He gets lots of questions on why CF'ers can get little pudgy.

I did not say that. The op said it. I agree that the rest of the diet should support goals. Which is my point: I would keep the post workout protein to take advantage of the nutrient uptake window that occurs immediately after resistance training but maybe look at other meals, lifestyle factors, and/or workout methods to see where there is room for improvement.
