Re: Egg white protein powder

Not to get far off topic but soy protein isolate also has the highest concentration of soy saponins of any soy preparation. “Dietary Mechanisms of Autoimmunity" L. Cordain. At the end of the day soy IS an allergen that probably should be avoided in mass amounts. The same goes for folks recommending peanut and other nut butters. Also Monsonto "owns" the soy bean plant now and has forced many farmers out of business due to accidental cross pollution that Monsonto claims as "IP/copyright violation."

Anyway, I'm not a fan of protein powders but everyone has their needs, and I've found http://www.trueprotein.com/ WFS to be pretty decent. I've only had the unsweetened stuff and it tastes... bleh, but it's not real food anyway.

Re: Egg white protein powder

Michael is correct, and soy (besides being a GMO frankenfood) is terrible for your thyroid function and blocks mineral absorption. Egg protein is much safer and easier to digest if you can't do whey. Jay Robb is a reliable source, and tastes decent for egg protein while having no added sugars.

I'm sorry, but this is misinformation.

HAHA! Oh no he didn't!

Seriously, if people want to engage in large intake of one thing, let 'em. Because no food in excess if good for you.

HAHA. I like your style.

Lyle has a balanced review on the topic of soy protein and thyroid function.

http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/res...-patients.html (WFS)

There are POTENTIAL drawbacks of soy, but for most, it's not a worry. If you plan on getting like 40 g of your protein intake from soy protein isolate, then that could POTENTIALLY be a problem.

If you order from True Protein, you can make your own mix with like half soy and half egg or whatever.
