I'm boycotting Tough Mudder for hijacking a website.

I ran my first mud race, The Spartan Race, with 12 other athletes from CF Thousand Oaks back in December. A few weeks later I went to hit the "like" button on their facebook page and instantly got a private message from Tough Mudder calling the Spartan Race race "not that tough" and offering a discount for their next event. Tough Mudder has hijacked Spartan Race's FB page which is just wrong.

I emailed Spartan Race to inform them and got this as a reply:

Thanks for the heads up, unfortunately we know about this and Facebook
is not doing anything about it. I suggest (although it's up to you)
that you tell all your friends not to like or unlike Tough Mudder's
page because of their shady tactics."

So myself and a lot of other CFers have decided to boycott Tough Mudder because their lack of ethics. I understand business is business but where are the ethics? Aren't the proceeds of these events supposed to go to charities?

Pretty lame. I'd guess that it'd be fairly transparent to the majority folks, though.
Are these sorts of things really called for? Adventure racing seems to be pretty popular right now. Don't most of these events sell out?
