Has anyone ready the autobiography by Bill Romonowski? It's a bizzarely entertaining book that reads more like a 'how-to' of performance/recovery. Publisher's Weekly accurately summed it up as "30% football, 70% apothecary".

Like the vast majority of those who frequent this board, recovering from punishing workouts via nutrition, sleep, and some supplementation is just par for the course. Romo took that strategy to obsessive levels. The usual suspects like 'roids, hgh, the now infamous "the clear" are discussed but also things like high potency vit-C I.V.s while lying in a hyperbaric chamber and seriously contemplating possible the possible performance/recovery benefits of drinking ones own urine are just some of the extreme techniques he tried.

If you've ever speculated on what you might do with your training and nutrition if time and money were no object then this book is a somewhat twisted yet vicarious pleasure.
