I think I am going to throw down some coin on bumpers soon. I was looking at the BFS solid bumpers and they have the solid black and the colored bumpers. The black has 10# and 15# rubber plates where the colored ones are just 25, 35 and 45#. Are they comparable? After searching here I noticed some people said that the smaller plates can break. Should I get the colored ones with metal plates to make up the difference or go right for the black set?

Thanks.

I like colored bumpers a lot, especially when training more than one person at a time. Makes loading faster and less error-prone. Plus it looks good. My Eleikos are black rubber with colored letters; I wrapped colored tape around the rims for better color coding.

If your going to throw down for colored bumps, Go for Kilos in int'l colors. Eleiko, York, Ivanko will last your lifetime (if it's just you using them) The BFS ones are in lbs vice Kgs and don't use int'l colors (45lbs is Red) which is lame. But weight is weight. BFS still has a sale going on their black bumps and they are legit.
