I need a little help.

I have been reading up on the Zone and have some questions. Here is one:

Some places recommend 'rye' bread instead of 'whole wheat'. Why is this? From what I have found the GI and glycemic load is almost the same.

Anyone have info on this?

I don't have much info, but I was seeing an OMD, and we got on the topic of diet. She had mentioned that rye was more effective at developing a muscular lean look, whereas wheat was more effective at putting on body fat. I didn't dive into the "why's."

I have also checked calories, composition, etc and even fiber...all seems to be very, very close. I like rye bread, so I eat some anyway. Just curious if I should make a complete switch over.

I believe Sears recommended whole grain rye, which is very difficult to find (for me at least). Most rye bread has lots of flour with only a bit of rye.
