can anyone explain this exercise?

wide stance DL with a narrow-ish pronated grip. stand up with the weight (all good DL rules/techniques apply) and continue the movement into an upright row. return weight to floor...repeat. If I remember correctly this is actually done fairly slowly...I think it was described in the old archives.

i've checked out some sites that show how to perform a sumo deadlift (one overhand, one underhand grip is what i have seen), and also how to perform a high pull, but i don't really see how you can perform the high pull with that sort of grip? maybe i am confusing this as one exercise..or should they be done as two seperate?

Just do the pronated (palms down) grip.
