Commercials

Does anyone know if some of the commercials from the Games are available for download? Back in 2010 they released several inspiring commercials (I've probably watched the "Belief" one fifty times). Since I'm in the Navy and spend time at sea without good internet it's nice to be able to download them for on ship entertainment/inspiration. Whether funny (Turning sevens into tens) or inspiring, I'd love to download some of what I saw this weekend.

Re: Commercials

If anyone finds the 'turning 7's into 10's' commercial...I'd appreciate that.

Re: Commercials

Hey about those commercials... the CrossFit commercials are awesome and the one you mentioned with the girls is my favorite.

HOWEVER... what about the other commercials? Do they not realize that is terrible product placement? I was shocked to see Mr. Tub-O-$hit drinking the Southern Comfort and the little flag and the logo / message about doing whatever is comfortable. Really? That seemed like the most ridiculous thing ever. It seemed comparable to advertising whorehouse commercials in a Sesame Street episode.

Sid,

First of all, I thought the SoCo commercial was fantastic. Clearly that guy was comfortable in his own skin. In his mind, he's the man and he doesn't care what anyone else thinks. Clearly targeted at the 21-29 demographic.

Secondly, I'm surprised that more people weren't frustrated with the "Turning Sevens into Tens" spot. I'd like to think, perhaps idealistically, that Crossfit's goal isn't to make us look better. This was the first advertisement I'd seen that overtly focused on the fact that Crossfit makes you hotter. Up until this one, they had all focused on making people more functional, more fit, and better at life. Sure, we all know that aesthetics are a pleasant side effect of Crossfit and a healthy diet, but if looks were the focus, wouldn't we tailor the workouts towards that?

Like I said, maybe I'm just idealistic. I Crossfit because, as a father and husband, I want to increase the chances of seeing my family grow and succeed. I meet my (someday) grand children and live to be old and grey with my wife at my side. When my daughter gets old enough, I'm going to teach her Crossfit and the importance of nutrition so that she can increase the odds of living a healthy and successful life...not so she'll be "hot" and one day have her chest and butt be the focus of the Crossfit commercial (there were NUMEROUS close-up chest/butt shots in the two Seven-into-Ten commercials that I saw).

In the end, I guess whatever motivation drives people to Crossfit is fine, but I have to imagine that the Seven-into-Ten commercials is helps reinforce the traditional focus on aesthetics over function rather than fix it.
