resistance bands

Im beginning crossfit and im way out of shape. Max pushups are about 8 and cant do a pullup. What resistance bands do you guys recommend. Flat or tubes etc. Etc. Also I want them for biceps and chest and triceps stuff like that. Not just for help with pullups. Thank you guys.

For pullup assistance and things like that I would go flat rather than tubing. You should look into Rogue Monster Bands. Or check out perform better. In terms of all the other assistance work you mentioned tubes would work just fine, but it would be a better bet to just go straight to flat in my opinion.

I just purchased a pull-up package from rogue. Go with the RF Pull-up Package 2 $64.50
(Two Each: Bands #1, #2, One #3)

Or just get a la carte #1, #2, #3. That should work you up towards doing un-assisted pull-ups.

the Package 1 bands were too 'strong' so provided a lot of resistance. More than needed for most people who want to do pull-ups.

You can always start with jumping pull-ups, too.

when I first started I was in just about the same position you are. I used a 1 and 3/4" band for my first pullup WOD. I died off after 10 reps, then a 1 and 1/4 band was ADDED to the first one and I got maybe 10 more throughout the WOD. I had maybe 4 left and the coach was like ..just skip the rest..lol

Check out Iron Woody bands. I got some from there years ago and they work great. They have a ton of different bands.
