Ok I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem... I am 6'1 at a steady 190 pounds, not big by any means but I do not feel scrawny either. Anyways I ran into a friend yesterday and I had a long sleeve shirt on and he must have told me I looked smaller twenty times. Now for some people that wouldn’t bother them but I put a lot of work into being in shape and it just really ****es me off when people undermine your work with dumb comments. Also it always seems to be out of shape people who always make the comments. Just curious if anyone else experiences the same problem. Sorry to rant just irritated

I get that a lot. Even from my mother...lol
This minor irritation is easily offset when you go up stairs with a group of people and hear them all panting for breath. Ask that joker how many pull-ups he did on Saturday? Show him the bar and the 45 pound weight then start the clock. |

Neal,
I'm going to bet you're not a weakling. 135lbs maybe, but weakling? Not likely. Not for long anyway. Chris |

Is it better to be called stocky? I am on the reverse end, 5'10, 205#. I feel the same way when someone describes me as "stocky" or "husky". I say bring it...

Jeffrey,
I got that a lot also when I initially went to CrossFit from bodybuilding/lifting. I cut about 10 solid pounds, but was way leaner and stronger than before. I like what someone on the message board here once said ... "I'd rather be stronger than I look, than look stronger than I really am", or something to that extent. I see you're at Camp Pen ... we'll have to meet up at the Mainside Gym sometime if you're ever over there. -Sean |

Jeffery that's a guy thing. MOST guys hate to hear "you look thin" and most women hate to hear "your looking beefy" even if it's a compliment. Recently a 6 year old kid was really excited because I looked like one of his action figures. His mom was trying to shut him up but I insisted on him telling me. I was thinking Wonder Woman or Zena. Nope, Skeletor. Nice!

I'm 6'3" and 195. I can relate man. The kicker is this is about the biggest I have been my entire life. A few years ago at the same height I weighed in at about 160lbs. I'm going to eat now, later.
