Re: The start of my garage gym...

If you havnt bolted it yet, i highly suggest putting it 4 feet from the wall. The bar takes up a good foot and a half so getting behind and loading plates will be a tight squeeze at 3'.

Super jealous...

I've been fantasizing about a garage gym lately. I don't have 10.5 foot ceilings and a 3 car space. I have a 2 car space, one side of which must be used for a car and washer & dryer. I also have shelving and garage stuff. I do have exposed ceiling rafters. Maybe next year I will have the couple of grand I'd need to get it going. Maybe...

Re: The start of my garage gym...

So here is the R4 rack with a 4" infinity rig bolted on. I put a dirty south bar at one end, and am SUPER happy with it, Im 6 foot 2 and finally I have to jump to grab a pull up bar...

This was not really ideal, the pull up bars that came with the infinity rig didnt really match up with the R4. There is only one hole per end on the tall uprights that the pull up bars can attach to...you can see it in one of the photos, I have to drill the tall uprights to have them fully bolted, although now that everything is bolted to the floor and tight, the thing is solid as a ROCK!

The two tall uprights are slanted, Im fixing that this evening with some washers. But for now, here is it.

Im going to take some MUCH better photos after we clean up tonight.

Make do with what you have bro, I loved when we were training in there with the open ceilings and walls, it was cool....its almost like we have to be careful now so we dont mess it up.

I actually hit my nose doing thrusters the other day, and put a big dent in one of the walls.

Last night we screwed a big piece of plywood to the wall so we can do HSPUs...just so we dont put our feet though the walls! haha

Nice! It won't happen soon. Just bought the place and Household 6 has other purchases in line before the home gym. Maybe next year. Until then, I'm going to have to accept going to a new gym. *sigh*
