Progenex

Did a quick search on the boards to find that the last thread about this product was locked or sent to pukies bucket thingy... I saw this on the CFG website and it sparked my interest. Has anybody actually used these products? I was about to order it a second ago but had to stop myself and make a quick posting... Let me know whats up if any fellow crossfitter has experience with them. Thanks!

Well, this is my guess (and only a guess) that with Chris Mason aboard, you'll see a lot LESS about Pregenex and a lot more about Mason's products.

Re: Progenex

Frank,

WHy would you think the average trainer would know how to train a body builder?

Depends on the goals.

Re: Progenex

I have used it. It is a very high quality whey protein product, but it is expensive.

Progenex has changed the formula of Recovery to add flavoring and aspartame. I think Growth is in the process of being changed. I am not happy about this since the original versions of both Growth and Recovery were unflavored and unsweetened.

Re: Progenex

The flavoring is necessary to appeal to the masses.

Ignoring the comments from the fellow above, I have not tried them, but I would be willing to bet anything from Dr. C (i.e. the original Met-RX and now Progenex) is a quality and effective product. I have always respected him and his products.

Re: Progenex

I tried the free samples they gave me after the events at the Nor-Cal sectionals last weekend and they seemed to be good. I don't know if that's really saying much but they tasted good (probably all the aspartame!) and my stomach felt fine. I could not speculate on whether or not it helped my recovery or anything like that though.

Lightbulb Re: Progenex

I havent tried the progenex products, but i found a product called Phormula 1 that i like quite a lot. Its fast-absorbing and comes in "fruity" flavors. The company that makes it is 1st Phorm and is based here in St Louis. A google search should turn up the website where you can order it.
