Question about thrusters. Durring this last WOD with the 50 thrusters around # 30 or so my knees started to pop when ever I would go into the down postion on the thruster. Am I doing something wrong? Am I falling apart? Whats going on?

You're falling apart.

My knees used to do that, and my hips used to kill on my way down. I found that relaxing all the muscle when you drop to the bottom position and then tensing to drive up helps a lot, as you're not working AGAINST gravity in that way. The knees just sort of got better as I worked at that. However, it was not really something I payed attention to, just something I noticed as a "before" and "after" thing. Hope this helps.

My right hip pops on the first couple of squats, everytime. No pain, before during or after, but the noise is disconcerting. I have no idea what causes this.

my knees pop when my form starts to fade (knees drifting past toes).

the popping for me is a reminder that as I fatigue, I need to keep focused on form to prevent injury.

Do you stretch all your muscles before working out? I tend to get a few poping or cracks if I dont stretch (wiegted and unweighted stretches) before working out.

My whole body pops depending upon what I'm doing. It's part of getting old.

It has not caused me any problems, though. Relaxing the muscles on the eccentric portion of the lift does help, as mentioned above.

I just got a really stiff bed, now everything pops - knees, hips, shoulders. No harm, I've gotten to kind of like it.

My knees still pop when i do full squats. It's not neccessarily bad unless it causes you pain. A lot of people just have bad patellar tracking (the patella doesnt track in a straight line between the femoral notch for those anatomy geeks). Just make sure you are performing the squat properly and warming up usually helps too=)
