Supplements

I have seen quite a few elite crossfitters do their daily eating videos on the CF Journal and have noticed that just about all of them take quite a few supplements. I have run into a fairly new supplement and wanted to know if anyone else has any insight or opinions on it. It's called Protandim. It's a new antioxidant that has alot of proven research behind it. Has anyone taken this supplement? And what has been you're experience with it?
Thanks.

Re: Supplements

There is plenty of information on different types of supplement all over the internet. Alot of people on the website will say everything that they don't know about is a scam, because it says so on a website.
Supplements are beneficial, and there are things that you cannot get from your food intake alone.
If the research is done from independent labs, double blind, with placebo controls that is what you are looking for. Google the product, and look at testimonials.

Re: Supplements

Which ones take quite a few supplements? I know Josh Everett does from his video, but Jason Kalipa said he doesn't take anything at all. I also seem to remember Spealer not taking much if anything, but can't quite remember? Which ones take supplements? I'm not accusing you of being wrong, I'm just interested to know which top level CFers take what supplements.

Re: Supplements

I'm pretty sure Josh Everett is the only one who takes supplements, and it's because he was diagnosed with having adrenal fatigue and the supplements are ways of combating it.

Look at the bottom of the page for info on suppplements, but the only one you really need is fish oil.

You might want to re-think that one.

Yeah dude that's not right. Supplements don't fix adrenal fatigue.

------------------

In any case the ones I would recommend that are must are:

fish oil, vitamin D

probable ZMA (if zn/mg deficient), multivitamin

Then creatine, BCAAs, whey/protein, etc. are optional.

In the video he mentions that the doctor who diagnosed him with adrenal fatigue prescribed him with some of the supplements he takes, I thought they battled adrenal fatigue, guess not; sorry.
