Know of any good veggies with high carbohydrate? Carrots are the best so far...but I don't wanna turn orange haha. I also have heard fruit is good but I try to avoid sugar although I'm sure I'll have to have some as the amount of vegetables seems not only hard to eat but quite costly as well. Any advice would be most appreciated! Thanks!
Do what Paleo man did and eat some starchy root vegetables.

I would have four and a half ounces of carbs and three and a half of protein. Six meals two rice, two couscous, one oat and one wheat for the carbs. I also recently tried going with pearled barley. Right now I just feel tired and slow.
You don't mention fats. Are you eating plenty of fat? That's where your energy comes from. Eat a palm full of almonds and a dollop of olive oil on each meal. You will have tons of energy and won't need the carbs.

And too, there is just the natural hang-over from removing or decreasing the number of carbs you are eating. You have got to eat a ton of veggies to get the same amount of carbs that are in just one cup of rice. This can take 3 or 4 weeks for some people. It gets better over time.

No need to avoid fruit - you can get two blocks easily from one apple. Nothing wrong with apples.

Pasta, that's one thing.

An apple? i wouldn't sweat it.

Add a fruit or two a day, and some fat. Fat is an easy peasy way to get calories in. 500 calories can be had in a matter of seconds/minutes if you wish

Re: Getting adequate Carbs with Paleo

Hey man-

I've new and I've had similair issues. I used to clock in about 2,750-3,100 calories a day with lots of Carbs including toast, brown rice, potatoes, cereal, oatmeal, etc.

I've been cutting down, althought not too dramatically. Apples and Oranges have become better friends of mine since full ones are 1 carb block. Cooked Spinach as well, since it's tasty and easy to eat. I have trouble stuffing myself with Broccoli but it's a work in progress.

For now I'm doing 1/3 oatmeal in the morning, which is 1C and then sweet potatoes right after the workout.

Best of Luck!

TB

I would like to respectfully disagree with Sarah. If you can avoid adding back grains than I would definitely do it. Add fruit, sweet potatoes, squash, tomatoes, onions. But if you are feeling especially run down than do sweet potatoes, starchy and tasty without the antinutrient effects of potatoes and grains.
