Best money$ you spent

I was wondering what was the best piece of equipment you've bought? What was the new purchase that excited you to go work out again?

I purchased rings a couple months ago and got real excited on working on muscle ups (until a good wrist sprain). They are definetely worth the money though. Got a few large tires for free and those have got to be one of the greatest pieces of workout equipment.

Well, so obvious it hardly needs to be said, but my oly bar and weights. I'd put them as more useful than my rings--with the caveat of course that you need the space, they're more frustrating to keep around and move, and they were a good deal more expensive.

For fitness-per-dollar, I'd go with my jump rope.

Oly bar and weights, no question.

Next after that - my cage.

Same as Ron above,

Oly bar, bumpers, and then Cage.

All enabled me to practice lifting at a new level and the cage allowed me to train safely and provided somewhere to do pull ups.

I also agree with oly bar and weights... And buy bumper weights even though I know it costs more... I did the cheap way and can't perform oly lifts with total confidence couse im afraid to break the weights incase i drop I will be buying bumpers soon hopefully

Depending on your budget:

If you are watching every penny, like most. Oly bar and bumpers would be great.

But...for the same price you could get a cheaper olympic set, medicine ball and some kettlebells. Just don't bail on lifts. The cheap metal sets are not as cool to drop.

When you can afford buy the bumpers and a good bar. Then sell the cheapo set on craigs list or ebay.

Should be noted that I'd put squat stands as a close second to the bar and weights. A proper rack would be better (and a power cage better still) but even some fairly cheap squat stands will enable you to back squat, which is worth the extra cash.

Re: Best money$ you spent

The best money I have spent has been the C2 rower. The rower keeps me out in the garage more than the bumpers. Of course, bumper plates are a must have. Home made wallball/slamballs and a horse stall mat are also a good to have.
