Re: Fran on fire

1st fran on fire 7m55s I think I could have done better but I had to push the thrusters out and back because of the scott regulator.

anyone else hit it?

Re: Fran on fire

me and another rookie tried it last night full gear. we had to scale down the weight, but it was still a challenge. we caught a run right after we finished (perfect timing) so I can't tell you a time. but it wasn't bad for my first fran ever.

Re: Fran on fire

Patrick I"m still trying to get a sub 4:30 regular Fran (stuck on 5:30) I need to shave a whole minute off. I did once without airpack but in PPE and it was painful. I had enough cardio just not the strength to do pullups.

Good job keep up the great work. Stay low and be safe.

Re: Fran on fire

First Fran ever, geared up? You crazy, man! Were you on air? I've only ever done her once as Rx (7:30 I believe) and it'll be awhile before I have the gumption to do it in full bunker gear and on air.

Re: Fran on fire

Firefighter Fran on Monday at 1600hrs at Diablo Crossfit. Full PPE, w/SCBA, not on air though. First day of good heat around here as well. Did first set of thrusters straight through, then broke up all sets afterwards. Definitely adds a new and VERY difficult element to an already brutal workout. Haven't met pukie in a while, but came so close.

Time- 11:10

Re: Fran on fire

It took me a while to go sub 4m but I figure I'll go with full PPE for 6mos than hit in shorts and absolutely crush it. I follow the main site and my gains are pretty regular. The only time I regress is when I am injured. So I hope PPE fran will turn sub 3m in 6 mos. My 1st goal is a 1000# total. I love lifting heavy stuff "O" and slow. My Asst Chief came in the gym when I jerked 295#-new PR, he then walked out in disbelief.

Re: Fran on fire

My first Fran ever was 4:25 rx'd, form was alittle lackluster, that was 4 mos ago, Fran Rx'd pr is 4:19,have done it with 105# thrusters 6:23,the new video is the second time with gear 1st on air,4 months of crossfit has had tremendous effects on my fitness level. My range of movement is affected by some elbow damage, resulting in surgery so I don't test it with the extra weight of the PPE. I do Fran once or twice a month, I have to face my fears frequently so to speak. I recommend Training with gear on atleast that often, 1 to 2 times a month. It really helps you appreciate being healthy and acclamates you with the increased effort it takes to "Get the Job Done!" I have had 3 brothers go down in 2 fires and I believe it was fitness related. So let's band together and get the FD in shape.
