Alan's Crossfit Log: Road to Heavy C&J and Heavy Snatch

While I have plenty of things to keep me dedicated to my goals (a journal, I write my PR's down on my box's wall with chalk, and I pretty much stay dedicated when I really want a goal), I want to stay obligated so I don't stray off course. So I'm starting this blog.

My goals really are simple: eat as well as possible, lift heavy stuff, get stronger. As of right now, my goals are geared more towards lifting heavy weight, so my conditioning is taking a break (I haven't done any sort of conditioning in almost three weeks). But my lifts have skyrocketed, and as of right now my C&J is at #210 (15 pounds off my goal) and my snatch is at #160 (five pounds off my goal). My clean and jerk is on track, and my snatch is skyrocketing, so I'm thinking about making my goal weight on my snatch at #170. As of right now, my bodyweight is at around #150-155, as it varies daily. My back squat is at #310 (though I am sure I can do way more), and my front squat is at #260 (again, I feel like I can do way more).

December 30

I took a break from the prescribed workout, as I was only suppose to go around 80% of my 1RM on my snatch. However, my ego got in the way, and I tried getting 155, which I got. But it was extremely ugly. So, naturally, I go up five pounds.

I got the weight up there, but I couldn't stabilize; I kept having the weight fall forward or backward. But I finally got it.

I'll have videos if I can get them off my coach. One thing I can say, though: die empty!

Re: Alan's Crossfit Log: Road to Heavy C&J and Heavy Snatch

Today I did some snatches, clean and jerks, and squats, and then a metcon for the first time in a long time.

Snatches:

135x1
145x1
150x1
160x1 (matches PR)

C&J:

185x1
205x1
225x1 (fail)

Squats:

275x1
305x1x2

Felt really weak today.

Metcon:

#185 squat clean x 3
10 hand-release push-ups
200m run

Three rounds

Result: 8:52

When I first did this workout, I didn't finish. Now I got it down.
