Re: Marijuana effects on the body

I'm wondering if smoking a huge spliff would have made this thread any more fun.

Or would it have made me just want to clean the house?

P.S. I don't smoke. Never liked it.

But apparently I'm in the minority... An article about how illegal drug use, esp. pot, is up.

Never tried it and don't intend to start trying at 30. I've heard that I'm in about 1% of the population here in the US having never tried any drugs. We all make choices and if I could go back, I wouldn't change mine so far.

Re: Marijuana effects on the body

pot is bad for your workouts...
1. it is a carcinogen just like cigarettes are and therefore is bad for you.
2. it kills brain cells and therefore won't help you focus better
3. it makes you lazy. lazy people exercise less

any benefits... possibly
it increases your appetite: well if you are looking to put on some weight and are having trouble eating more it could help. but why use something ellegal to do that with when there are perfectly legal supplements that can do that for you already that don't have the 3 side effects mentioned above.

it helps kill pain: if you are in so much pain perhaps you should address what is causing your pain before continuing to train. on a side note both fish oil and glucosamine are known to help with joint pain. no pun intended, lol.

want more focus: put away the pot and get a pre-workout supplement. shotgun, no explode, jack 3d, hemmo-rage. these are all products which will help your weight lifting. although I caution you not to use these with cardio workouts as they are not intended for them.

also perhaps if you are losing focus you should reexamine your fitness goals and find another way of simply motivating yourself to reach your goals. good luck

Re: Marijuana effects on the body

when did the forums become and okay place to inquire about something that demonstrates an ability to do things no strong? These pot questions are starting to get under my skin.

Re: Marijuana effects on the body

Basically two basic strands: Indica and Sativa. Indica is stereotypical high (sleepy and lazy) while Sativa is more of an energetic "let's go do something" and being able to think more clearly. Healthiest way to consume is by food or vaporizer, safer because inhaling a vapor...not nasty smoke.

As for WOD'ing; I'd say do it as much as you want as long as it's after you have worked out for the day. Honestly just a little before bed to help you sleep. Just like anything else in life...moderation and variety!!
