Tire Workouts...where do i get the tire

I was wondering if anyone knew a good place to get one of those huge 450 lbs tires. Also how much do those cost you think? Would it be totally rediculous to use it on a personal lvl? Thanks,
-Greg

Find a tire store that serves farmers and/or construction equipment. Ask if they have any old tires of the size you want. Should be free or very cheap, since otherwise the store would have to pay to get rid of it.

Re: Tire Workouts...where do i get the tire

greg,

they are tractor tires as in heavy equipment front end loader, back hoe, scraper, not 18 wheeler. you can also search for company that services farm equipment.

they are usually free because businesses will have to pay for disposal,(bring a truck)

look for 20.5 x 25 is a good start, look for tire with good edges flipping a tire with rounded edges is difficult

23.5 x 25 if your a beast, sometimes a 2 man tire depending on wear

I'm not going to be A** and tell you to search is your friend or google is your friend....

So try here

VAUGHN EQUIPMENT REPAIR SERVIC
2111 Lynnbrook Ave
Chattanooga,TN 37404
(423) 622-0660

my tire and I have become great friends I flip her, jump on her/over her, hit her with a sledge hammer, and even sit-ups and back extensions with her almost every day.

drill a drain hole in her, keeps the 'skeeter population down.

welcome to board.

Re: Tire Workouts...where do i get the tire

That's what I did. Found a company that sells to heavy machinery. I showed up, asked if they had any scrap tires that I could have for working out. The guy showed me what I estimate to be about a 400lb tire. I flipped it a couple of times and he said I could have it. Even offered to load it in my truck with the fork lift.

Re: Tire Workouts...where do i get the tire

I had a buddy that put an ad on craigslist. The son of a farmer replied to his ad. He had to drive a little way into the country, but the farmer gave him 2 huge tires for free. The old guy actually had 6 large tires that were just stacked up over the years, and he didnt want to pay to get rid of them.

Re: Tire Workouts...where do i get the tire

I went by a local tire shop too and talked to the owner who gladly let me take any tire I wanted. He even had a guy working there give me a hand loading it and said I could come back for more any time I want because he has to pay to get rid of them.

I'd search for a tire between 17.5-23.5 x 25 It really just depends on how heavy you want it.
