How do Splenda and similar sugar substitutes fit into the Zone Plan. Are they freebees or do you count them the same as sugars?

Re: Splenda

I know that some "Zone friendly" recipes and other low-carb diets use it. I stay away from Splenda because it gives my mother migrane headaches, and while it doesn't do that to me, I do feel "off" for hours whenever I have some. When I use a sugar substitute, I use stevia.

Re: Splenda

YMMV, but splenda was making my mom's hair fall out.

You know what a little sugar is going to do, I'd choose to just suck up the extra calories rather than put a chemistry set in my body.

Re: Splenda

from someone whos been on and off Splenda over and over again. dont use it.

its definitely something that just makes you feel off.

after using it for a few months in coffee i started getting a skin rash on a couple of my knuckles and in the back of my armpits. it wouldnt spread but i would itch it til the skin would break and dry out, uncomfortable. so i went off it and within a few days the rash disappated and completely dissappeared within a couple weeks. then i decided that it may have just been coincidence and started using it again, the rash reappeared within 2 days this time and any other time i tried it again.

just my opinion but that **** is worse for you than straight sugar!
