Re: Have we all seen this yet?

It looks like there already exists a "NPFL" and the logo was actually remarkably similar the new grid league. Even though it seems a silly little thing (paper football), if they had TMs on it, I could see them being the reason to have forced the change on the grid people.

Mind you this is ALL rumors, but Briggs, pancheck, ben smith, katie hogan, trinidad, and Valensula have all left because of such reasons.

Now who would put pressure on these folks and a vendor company such as Progenix to do such a thing (if these rumors are true)?

Will be interesting to hear the facts about all this when they do finally come out. Because it always comes out sooner or later.
looks like you are right, most of these athletes are not on the official rosters anymore. i am a bit disappointed but not really surprised.

Re: Have we all seen this yet?

It's all hearsay, and gossip till we know more.

If this was a team competition though, why would HQ care when the Games are mostly about individual competitions with the exception of this new team thing they announced a few weeks back?

if i was CF i am not sure i would be cool with my top athletes and the ones that are supposed to represent my sport being associated with another sport/league or organization.

Then CF needs to figure out a way to get their athletes exposure and competition more than three weekends a year.

no argument here. i can fully understand why an athelete will go into the NPFL (sorry , NPGL). i am just saying that i can also see why CF is unhappy. think about Briggs, she is the CrossFit Games champion but she signed with the Grid (what a stupid name)...

Re: Have we all seen this yet?

Well Briggs doesn't even have the Crossfit games to train for, so what the hell else is she gonna do ?

Fact is crossfit has gone from a part time 'hobby' where athletes were happy to only compete a few weekends of the year to being on the brink of a professional sport, huge difference

The next year will be telling. Failure of this NPGL would be just as bad for crossfit as it would be for the NPGL.
