air squat flexibility

I've been in CrossFit for over a year now and still can't get my air squat below parallel. I've given up trying to fix it plenty of times before because I don't have the knowledge of how to fix it. I've done wall squats and things of the sort but when it comes to a stretching routine, I don't have one. Help? Thanks.

Re: air squat flexibility

Squat to a box. Progressively reduce the height of the box.

Search the forums for stretching routines. You'll find many many posts with helpful suggestions.

Re: air squat flexibility

Look into some stretching techniques. Search for stretches that open up your hip flexors, IT band, quads and hamstrings. Without pics it's hard to give more. Post a pic if you can and I'm sure the forum will give you tons of helpful advice.

Re: air squat flexibility

I guess I wasn't specific enough. All I really wanted was somebody to tell me " do these specific stretches everyday and it will fix your air squat flexibility problem." Thanks for the help!

Re: air squat flexibility

Like Coach Glassman says, "The answer is to squat."

Just keep squatting. Each time you squat fight the depth with correct form each rep. An air squat should wreck you.

Re: air squat flexibility

Your signature quotes a 325# back squat. Was that below parallel?

Re: air squat flexibility

That CFT is old. My DL is now at 420, SP is at 135, and BS is around 275 and I'm not sure if it gets below parallel. It gets below parallel in front squats though...
