Northeast Warrior Dash

Just wondering if any other Crossfitters are running in the Northeast Warrior Dash at Windham Mountain on September 18th?

My wife and I ran the May Dash in Georgia, some of the most fun ever! Get some Vibram Five Fingers and the experience is even better.

Hey Patrick- We have a crew of about 22 coming from the Rochester, NY area. Look for us- we will all have matching Red "Crossfit Warrior" shirts on.

Do you suggest VFF for these types of competitions? I've been thinking about doing the Tough Mudder (WFS) and it seems like the best option for keeping your feet light and dry.

Re: Northeast Warrior Dash

I'll be there with another crossfitter. I hear some people from Albany might be coming out too.

Negative - I've done 3 of these now and I suggest a good pair of trail running shoes (I wear the adidas kahndia tr2) and a good pair of running socks. Ran the Southeast one with a guy who wore the VFF and his feet were tore up from the dirt getting trapped between his foot and the VFF and just grinding away.

Wear Vibram KSOs (Keep Stuff Out) and all the grit will not be an issue. I wore them for the Warrior Dash, as well as a lot of other people, no problems. Were you wearing an open top style Vibram, like the Classics or Sprints?

Re: Northeast Warrior Dash

Thanks for the info. Got some thinking to do. Probably gonna go with the VFF KSO or Inov-8s if I can find them.

Good luck! I ran the Midwest this year and the inaugural. I felt I did quite well for myself. Placed 85th out of 564 competitors in the 30 - 35 bracket.

I wasn't wearing them - a friend was. Not sure what kind, but I'm pretty sure they were an open type. I had zero issues with my trail runners and a good pair of north face running socks. I'll use the same set up in two weeks for the USMC Mudrun.
