Water?!?!?!

Feel like it is the thing that everyone talks about water, water, water..I agree helps recover, diet and everything but the question I have is how much is too much? Is it true to have half your weight in oz in water a day? Help out if you can!!!

Lots of variables, including how active you are, climate you spend most of your time in, how much of a sweater you are, diet, etc...

That is the easiest measured indicator. Also, if you're thirsty, you either need to drink water or have recently ingested Ecstasy.

Half your BW (in pounds) in ounces of water really isnt much. Im 205, so thats 102.5, which isnt even a gallon. Three 16 ounce cups with/around breakfast, a quart during/around workout, and two more 16 ounce cups with lunch and im pretty much there by 2pm

Re: Water?!?!?!

I once drank 18 quarts of water in a day, with out peeing. Sweaty day.

It just depends on what you are doing

Drink water until your urine is
Clear and copious.
If your urine is yellow you need more water. (or just took a multi V)

A gallon a day is a good average.

Re: Water?!?!?!

Grab a FRESH gallon jug for about $2 bucks and drink it throughout the day...you'll be good to go.

I've never heard this guideline, but if I only drank that much, I would be dealing with dehydration lethargy and cottonmouth 24/7.

I weigh 205lbs, and in an average day, I drink 2 liters of water pre/peri/post exercise, a dozen diet cokes, and a liter or so of iced tea.

No, but it's not unhealthy either.

Conspiracy theorists aside, nobody in pharmacokinetics takes seriously the claims that aspartame has any statistically significant effects in humans when taken in GRAS dosages. The clinical evidence is very clear on this point.

The phosphoric acid, on the other hand, may cause calcium uptake issues, but my bone density is fine so far. It's something I'll keep an eye on every few years while I continue to enjoy the amazing, delicious beverage that is diet coke
